(Hello! My spirit name is Boss Lady Sitting Woman. My birth name is Lisa L’Hirondelle)

I am Metis Cree/French, currently residing in Treaty 7 and Metis Nation Region 3 territory. I am originally from Treaty 6 territory. My father’s family (Blyan/Lewis) is from Buffalo Lake Metis Settlement. My mother’s family (L’Hirondelle/ Atkinson/Boudreau) is from the Papaschase Band and Edmonton area. I am a wife, mother, and kokum. I have spent my adult life reconnecting to culture, tradition, and ceremony. This has played a significant role in my own healing and educational journey. I am also an avid beader and small business owner. My formal education consists of a Bachelor of Sociology (2019) from the University of Alberta and a Bachelor of Social Work from the University of Calgary (2021). I have many roles and interests that I pursue that involve working with all my relations and building relationships. My passion includes program development, implementation and evaluation that speaks to the spirit of Indigenous ways of knowing, being and doing which in turn will provide a wholistic benefit to Indigenous learners.
